Abstract


Ageism, which is stereotyping and prejudice against the elderly, has an influence on healthcare in various ways. As a sequel to the recent article on healthcare ageism, this is another short review with regard to the concepts of ¡®ageism¡¯ and sociological theories of ¡®aging¡¯ and new gerontological theory of ¡®successful aging¡¯. This review has some implications in the healthcare communication and doctor-patient relationship at the micro (i.e. personal) level.
